Finanzprodukte für Muslime kommen wieder in Mode

Spätestens seit die US-Grossbank Goldman Sachs mit der Ankündigung einer milliardenschweren islamischen Anleihe grosse Wellen geschlagen hat, sind Finanzprodukte für Muslime auch in der westlichen Welt wieder ein Thema. Dies berichtet jetzt die Schweizer Wirtschaftszeitung „CASH“. In den arabischen Ländern seien die Produkte des Islamic Finance längst auf dem Sprung von der Nische zum Mainstream.

Lack of Relevant Laws Constrains Growth in Islamic Finance

With Islamic banking and insurance gaining ground in the country, there are calls for new legislation by banking and insurance regulators to enable the companies to invest in Sharia-compliant securities. Two banks – Gulf African and First Community – are operating fully pursuant to Sharia-compliant banking principles, although up to five other commercial banks are also offering Sharia-compliant banking products alongside conventional products.

Österreich: Verbindliche Regeln für Finanzdienstleistungen

In der Europäischen Union leben rund 25 Millionen Muslime, in Österreich rund 600 000. So wie andere grundsätzliche Bedürfnisse unterliegen Finanzdienstleistungen im islamischen Glauben bestimmten Regeln. Auf Initiative des Islamischen Informations- und Dokumentationszentrums Österreich (IIDZ) wurde bei Austrian Standards Institute Regeln für Islamic Banking entwickelt.
